Island clay ornaments

Island clay ornaments are handcrafted, one-of-a-kind souvenirs from the island of Hvar. I’ve chosen two iconic motifs from the island to be printed onto the clay: lavender and lace. After the prints are applied, the clay is carefully dried, then painted and glazed for a beautiful finish. These ornaments are made using clay, jute rope, vibrant colors, and wooden beads, creating a truly unique and authentic keepsake.

Each ornament has a diameter of 8 centimeters. Inside the box, you’ll find a brief note about the chosen motif—lavender or lace. The ornament is elegantly packed in a natural-style cardboard box with a window, making it a perfect, beautifully presented keepsake.

Lavender ornament

The lavender ornament is crafted from white clay and feature a natural white color, accented with lavender frost and rose gold hues, adding a touch of elegance and charm.

Hanging fishes

These hanging fishes, lovingly handmade as unique souvenirs from the island of Hvar, were chosen to represent not only our beautiful seaside destination but also the deep cultural and economic significance that fish hold for the island's people.

From the earliest times, fishing has been the heart of Hvar’s way of life. The rich abundance of small blue fish, especially sardines, alongside grapes and olives, formed the pillars of the island's economy and socio-cultural evolution. Economically, culturally, and symbolically, the sardine (Sardina pilchardus) holds a place of unparalleled importance, with its age-old tradition of salting enduring through the generations to this very day.

For the hanging fishes, I have used red clay, jute rope, wooden beads, and vibrant colors. After shaping the clay into fish, it is left to dry thoroughly before being painted and glazed to bring out its full character and charm.

Choose between two beautifully crafted fish:

Sardine

A blue marine fish that holds a deep, enduring significance in Hvar’s traditions, with its ancient salting heritage still cherished today. Colors: Aquamarine, Silver, Pewter, and Turquoise.

Sea Bream (Dorade)

A revered white marine fish, often called the queen of the Adriatic Sea, prized for its tender flesh and esteemed by fishermen. Colors: Aquamarine, Rose Gold, and Turquoise.
